Accompanied by a 1958 type-written letter describing the volume and gifting it to a Physician in London, Ontario.

Original 18th century panelled, blindstamped calf with 5 raised bands and red gilt stamped morocco title to spine.

[2 blank end leaves]+[1 leaf title]+[7 leaves 'Dedication','Preface' and 'Subscribers]+[1-224]+[title leaf]+[9 leaves 'Names of the Authors' and 'Catalogue of the Seeds']+[225-419]+[5 leaves 'Index']+[2 pages Advertising]+[2 blank end leaves]+[86 full page engraved plates]. Complete.

In very good condition. Nicely rebacked with original boards with original spine laid down. Exterior show rubbing, and minor wear to extremities. Interior condition is very good with front and rear hinges cracked but text block tight and solid. Majority of pages are in fine condition, save for some browning/toning to front blank leaf and to numerous of the full page plates later in the volume as a result of the paper composition and/or the copper used during the engraving process (normal for paper of this period).
